7 easy ways to make your gel manicure last longer

A gel manicure should last two to three weeks — and with a little care, often longer. Here are our technicians’ favourite tips.
- Oil every day. Cuticle oil keeps the gel and your natural nail flexible, which helps prevent lifting.
- Wear gloves for chores. Hot water and cleaning products are gel’s biggest enemies.
- Use your fingertips, not your nails. Do not use nails as tools to open cans or peel stickers.
- Avoid long hot soaks for the first 24 hours. Saunas, spas and long baths can soften the product while it settles.
- Do not pick. If an edge lifts, file it gently or pop in to see us — peeling takes layers of nail with it.
- Moisturise your hands. Healthy skin around the nail means a neater-looking manicure for longer.
- Book your next appointment before you leave. Regular maintenance keeps nails strong and even.
