BIAB explained: what it is and how long it really lasts

Milky white BIAB nails

If you have scrolled through nail inspo lately you have almost certainly seen BIAB. It is our most-requested service for clients who want strong, natural-looking nails without extensions. Here is what it is, who it suits and how to make it last.

What does BIAB stand for?

BIAB means Builder In A Bottle. It is a thicker, more flexible gel that is brushed onto your natural nail and cured under an LED lamp. Because it has more structure than a regular gel polish, it adds strength and creates a smooth, even shape.

Who is it for?

  • Nails that are thin, bendy or peel easily
  • Anyone growing out their natural nails (or recovering from acrylics)
  • People who want a natural look with a little extra length

How long does it last?

Most clients wear BIAB for three to four weeks before coming in for an infill. Instead of removing everything, we file back the old product and rebalance the nail — which is why your nails can keep growing underneath.

Can I have colour or nail art?

Yes. BIAB comes in sheer nudes and milky shades, or we can add any gel colour, French tip or art on top.

Tip: never peel BIAB off at home. It takes layers of your natural nail with it. Book a removal and we will soak it off gently.
